life as one of the leading cigar
manufacturers in the country.

Corporation and the flight simulation
industry, begun by Link Aviation.
Broome County is also home to the
Endicott-Johnson shoe factory.
Binghamton
University and Broome
Community College, as well as

Regional Airport, with

Broome County’s population numbered
just over 200,500. Many local and
state tax incentive

Broome County residents. The
Southern Tier East Economic
Development (STEED) Loan fund is
one of these, which works along with
the Broome
County Industrial Development Agency.
New

than anywhere else, and Broome County
keeps an eye out to attract more to
their sector.
According to the 1997 Census of
Manufacturers, The Broome-Tioga County
area employees rated as some of the
most productive in the nation.
The quality of life also rates high
in Broome County, while housing prices
are 10% lower than anywhere in the

the Chenango
and Susquehanna
Rivers, Broome County remains one of
the most picturesque and lovely areas

Known as the 'Carousel Capital of
the World', Broome County boasts six
different wooden musical carousels,
with only 170 still existing
