Motorcycle death By: Christopher Loh "Tragedy struck Watertown early Saturday morning when a 29-year-old Waltham man died in a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Galen Street and Nonantum Road. Ludin Gonzalez was riding a black Duca M800 going westbound on Nonantum Road with four friends following on other motorcycles. Traveling at a high rate of speed, Gonzalez lost control, was unable to stop for a red light and crashed into a GMC van crossing the intersection on Galen Street toward Newton, according to police reports. The accident took place at 1:42 a.m. Gonzalez was found lying unconscious next to the motorcycle in the intersection. He was wearing a helmet. Officers performed CPR on Gonzalez. He was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Gonzalez’s friends and other witnesses estimated his speed to be near 80 miles per hour, the police report said. This is the second fatal motorcycle accident in as many months in Watertown." Continue article
